RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 83-28, ITEMS 4.2.1 AND 4.2.2,

, DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION The staff has reviewed the following portions of Toledo Edison's response to Generic Letter 83-28:

o Reactor Trip System Reliability (Preventive Maintenance), Item 4.2.1 o ' Reactor Trip System Reliability (Trending of Parameters), Jtem 4.2.2 Toledo Edison's response to the above items were transmitted by letters dated

-November 7, 1983 (Serial No. 1000) and March 29, 1985 (Serial No. 1130).

Following review of the documents cited, we have concluded that: 1) the preventive maintenance program includes the major elements identified by the staff-and will be conducted at an interval not to exceed 12 months; and

~ 2) the trending of parameters is being accomplished through participation with-the B&W Owners Group Reliability Monitoring Program. Based on the conclusions previously listed, we _have determined that the responses to items 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 of Generic Letter 83-28 are acceptable.
