SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (SPIP)' IMPLEMENTATION AUDIT AT DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER' STATION (TACNo.M68201)

As you are: aware, the NRC staff has determined that a series of audits is-necessary to verify the proper implementation of the-Babcock & Wilcox Owners iGroup'(B&WOG) safety and performance improvement program (SPIP) recomendations at each B&W designed facility. The staff's intent to audit the implementation cof this' program was identified in section 12.2 of the staff's SER on the B&WOG Plant Reassessment Program'(NUREG-1231, November 1987). This audit series-teonsists of La SPIP_ programatic' audit (which has been completed already), a Y

SPIP'recomendation implementation audit, and a followup audit,-.if neessary..
