Thank you for your letter dated April 10, 1989, in response to our February 22, 1989 letter concerning. allegations pertaining to security guards not fit for duty due to exhaustion caused by working excessive overtime at LaSalle Station (Allegation RIII-88-A-0150).

In our letter, we requested that you fully analyze the allegation, initiate-an appropriate investigation, take all actions you deem appropriate, and submit the results of your investigation to the NRC.

Your response indicated that your investigation showed that overtime is generally not excessive at LaSalle and that security officers are fit to perform their assigned duties. Your response also indicated that in accordance with your internal procedures, when security officers worked more than 12 hours1.388889e-4 days <br />0.00333 hours <br />1.984127e-5 weeks <br />4.566e-6 months <br /> their performance was evaluated by trained supervisors. We found your investigation to be sufficient to support your conclusions and have no additional questions regarding this matter. We request that you retain the supporting documentation for your investigation of this allegation'for a minimum of one year from the date of this letter.

In accordance with 10 0FR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be p aced in the NRC Public Document Room.
