Conrnonwealth Edison's letters of May 15 and August 28,1986; April 24, November 24, and December 23, 1987; and January 15, 1988, pertaining to LaSalle Units 1 ,

and 2, contained your response to IEB 85-03, " Motor-0perated Valve Conrnon Mode Failures During Plant Transients Due to Improper Switch Settings". Our review of the responses indicated the need for additional information which was contained in your letters of May 2 and 18,1989. In addition, your letter of June 3, 1988, contained your response to Supplement I to IEB 85-03. The review of these latest three responses indicates that they do not include all of the valves addressed by the BWROG positions expressed in NEDC-31322 dated.

September 1986 and in Supplement I to NEDC-31322 dated July 1988. Provide a cocrnitment to include all of the valves addressed by the BWROG. This additional information is requested within one month of the date of this letter.

The written report shall be submitted to the Region 31 Administrator, Region III, under oath of affirmation under provisions of Section 182a, Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended. Also, the original copy of the cover letter and a copy of the report shall be transmitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Congnission Document Control' Desk, Washington, DC 20555 for reproduction and distribution.
