Mr. Delano and Ms. Dowd: s 11am responding to your September 28,.1987 letter inviting me to i participate in a'public. forum on the Pilgrim facility on the evening of _ i October 29,.1987,- in-Duxbury. I sincerely regret that I will.be unable to attend your meeting because of a prior commitment.

The NRC staff currently is planning to conduct one or more public meetings l

-in Massachusetts on the Pilgrim plant in the near future. In view of your 4 continuing interest in the' issues associated with operation of_this  !

facility, I have referred your invitation to NRC's Executive Director for Operations,-Mr. Victor.Stello, Jr., to determine the availability of-members of our technical. staff to represent NRC at the October 29 meeting.
