EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION INSPECTION - DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT N0. 1 This letter confirms the dates of February 24 to 28,1986, for the NRC equipment qualification (EQ) inspection at. Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1.

These dates were established during a January 27, 1986 telephone conversation between you and J. J. Harrison, Jr., NRC Region III. The inspection will take place at the plant site.

A management entrance meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on February 24, 1986, at the plant site. A management exit meeting is tentatively scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on February 28,1986, also a:: the plant site. A plant walkdown inspection of equipment is tentatively planned for February 26, 1986. We will contact your staff by telephone to further address the logistics of the inspection.

The inspection will include the following:

1. Review of your implementation of a 10 CFR 50.49 program including EQ Master List and preservation of the qualified status of qualified equipment.

2. Review of your implementation of Technical Evaluation Report / Safety Evaluation Report EQ corrective action commitments.

3. Review of EQ documentation files.

4. Physical inspection of selected equipment.
