Gentlemen:

During the June 16, 1987 telenhone exit interview pertaining'to allegations

addressed in Inspection Report No. 50-155/87014, Mr. T. E1 ward and other

members of your staff were advised that we may request additional information

pertaining to security incidents that occurred on May 28-29, 1987.

We request that you provide available information within 30 days pertaining

to a May 28, 1987 incident involving an unarmed Assistant Shift Leader, and

a May 29, 1987 incident pertaining to an item entering the protected area.

Your security staff is aware of the incidents and we haven been advised that

incident reports have been prepared for the two events. The incidents appear

similar in nature to~ two incidents we reviewed during July 1986 and addressed

in an August 12, 1986 letter to you. Your response should include any

corrective actions that may have been initiated as a result of the May 28-29,

1987 incidents.

Your response to this request may contain information which is exempt from

disclosure according to Part 73, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations,

Section 73.21(c). If so, your response must be handled'and protected in

accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 73.21 and will not be placed in

the NRC Public Document Room.

The response directed by this letter is not subject to the clearance procedures

of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction  ;

Act of 1980, PL 96-511. '
