By application dated September 26, 1988, your Company requested a partial exemption from the annual fees of 10 CFR 171 for the Big Rock Point Plant. You requested that the fees be reduced to an amount that ,I would be not more than 8.5% of the amount charged for a typical boiling water reactor, and have stated that the bases for this partial exemption

.are essentially unchanged from those provided and considered in your previously approved applications for partial exemptions for FYs 1987 and 1988.

- We have completed our review of your request and based on the size and age of the plant, its noncompetitive electrical output size when compared with most other reactors, and the impact of annual fees, we have determined that a partial exemption is appropriate. Therefore, pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 171.11, a partial exemption is hereby granted for the Big Rock Point Plant. The annual fee is reduced from the FY,1989 rate of $1,118,000 to $95,030. .This amount equates to 8.5% of the plant's annual fee. . Enclosed is an invoice for $95,030.
