DAVIS BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION The staff has reviewed the following portions of Toledo Edison's November 7, 1983 (Serial No.1000) and July 9,1985 (Serial No.1164) responses to Generic Letter 83-28:

Post-Maintenance Testing Verification (Reactor Trip System Components) item 3.1.1 and 3.1.2.

Reactor Trip System Reliability (Vendor Related Modifications) Item 4.1.

Reactor Trip System Reliability (System Functional Testing) Item 4.5.1.

Our review also referenced a portion of Section II.B.3 - Maintenance improvement Program, from your report " Course of Action Report." which was submitted Septenber 10, 1985 (Serial No. 1182).

Based on the review of the documents cited above, we have determined that the responses for the four items identified are acceptable. A copy of our Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
