Aplantmodification hasbeeninitiated toreplacetheoldinverterwithanavailable equivalent circuit.Itisanticipated thattheplantmodification willbe'ompleted andthedetection restoredtooperability byApril24,1990.Afirewatch,asrequiredbyTechnical Specification 3.7.10actiona,willbemaintained whilethefiredetection isinoperable.

FireDoor391wasdeclaredinoperable onFebruary2,1990duetothedoorbeingremovedforreplacement.

Itwasrestoredtooperability onFebruary15,1990.Afirewatch,asrequiredbyTechnical Specification 3.7.10actiona,wasmaintained whilethedoorwasinoperable.

FireDampers1-HV-AC-FD-l, 1-HV-AC-FD-2, 1-HV-AC-FD-3, 2-HV-AC-FD-1, 2-HV-AC-FD-2, and2-HV-AC-FD-3, locatedintheUnitOneandUnitTwoP-250ComputerRoomsweredeclaredinoperable onFebruary8,1990whentheyfailedtoautomatically closeduring0 U.S.NucleagulatoryCommission March8,199Page2of2surveillance testing.Anengineering evaluation isbeingperformed todetermine thereasonforthefailuresand,theproperrepairsorreplacements, ifnecessary.

Wewillinformyouviaafollowupreportwhentheengineering evaluation iscompleteandthedampershavebeenrestoredtooperability.

Afirewatch,asrequiredbyTechnical Specification 3.7.10actiona,isbeingmaintained whilethedampersareinoperable.

FireDamper1-HV-AQT-W2, locatedintheUnitOneReactorCableTunnelQuadrant2wasdeclaredinoperable onFebruary15,1990whenitfailedtofullycloseduringasurveillance test.Repairactivities onthedamperhavebeentemporarily suspended duetotheinaccessability ofthedamperoperating mechanism.

Aplantmodification hasbeeninitiated toinstallaserviceportontheventilation ductworkassociated withthedampertoallowrepairactivities tocontinue.

Wewillinformyouthroughafollow-up reportwhentheplantmodification iscompleteandthedamperhasbeendeclaredoperable.

Thedamperwillbemaintained inaclosedpositionuntilrepairactivities havebeencompleted.
