A. B. Davis
Dear Mr. Davis:
This letter is to inform you that the following meteorological instruments were inoperable for longer than the seven days allowed by Technical Specification 3.3.3.4 Action b:
150'rimary wind speed declared inoperable March 3, 1989 150'econdary wind speed declared inoperable March 4, 1989 50'rimary wind speed declared inoperable March 5, 1989 The meteorological instruments had malfunctioned due to a series of ice storms that caused the instruments to freeze up and also resulted in some of the wind cups being broken.
Subsequent inclement weather prevented prompt repair due to personnel safety concerns.
During the time the instruments were inoperable, all gas decay tank releases were suspended.
The instruments were repaired and calibrated.
All instruments were declared operable on March 12, 1989.
Respectfully, W. G. Smith, Jr.
