Dear Mr. Davis:
Thi letter is to inform you that Fire Doors 392 and 386 have been inoperable longer than the seven days allowed by Technical, Specification 3.7.10 Action a.
Fire Door 392, separating fire zones 43 and 91, was declared inoperable on December 19, 1988 due to screws being missing from the astragal covering the gap between the two sections of the door.
,Due to the length of time required to obtain certified parts, the door was not repaired and declared operable until January 18, 1989.
At the time the door was declared inoperable, a
roving fire watch patrol was established as required by Technical Specification 3.7.10 Action a, and was maintained until the door was returned to operable status.
Fire Door 386, separating fire zones 39 and
- 34B, was declared inoperable on December 16, 1988 due to a broken closing device.
Due to the requirement'o use only certified parts for fire door repairs, we are having to wait until the required parts certification is obtained before completing repairs.
It is expected that this fire door will be repaired and returned to operable status by February 15, 1989.
At the time Fire Door 386 was declared inoperable a roving fire watch patrol was established as required by Technical Specification 3.7.10 Action a.
This fire watch patrol will remain in effect until the fire door can be returned to operable status.
