Dear Mr. Davis:
This is to confirm a verbal report made to Mr. R. Kazmar of your staff at 1014 hours0.0117 days <br />0.282 hours <br />0.00168 weeks <br />3.85827e-4 months <br /> on August 3, 1987.
At that time Mr. Kazmar was informed that the Fire Suppression Water System was not operable as required by Technical Specification 3,.7.9.1.b due to the isolation of a portion of the north leg of the outside fire protection ring header.
This isolation was necessitated due to what appears to be a leaking fire hydrant located outside of the protected area.
This fire hydrant is used primarily for protection of the Plant Warehouses.
No safety related Fire Protection Systems were removed from service due to the isolation of this section of the Fire Protection piping.
Backup fire protection is available from nearby fire hydrants.
As required by Technical, Specification 3.'7.9.1 action b.2c, a
followup report will be submitted within 14 days outlining the cause of the problem and projected corrective actions.
