Office on April 25, 1985. This meeting was related to the application of Fire Protection,10 CFR 50, Appendix R, and the forthcoming Appendix R inspection at Grand Gulf Unit 1. Enclosed is a summary of the meeting topics.

1 It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial, and provided for a better understanding of NRC's Appendix R Fire Protection inspection methodology and Mississippi Power and Light's Appendix R analysis and design approach.

r Facility License No.: NPF-20 i A meeting was held in the NRC Region !! Office on April 25, 1985, to discuss the implementation of 10 CFR 50, Appendix R. Fire Protection, in preparation for the special inspection at Grand Gulf Unit I scheduled for May 20 through May 24, 1985. ,

The licensee presented copies of the following preaudit (nformation requested by the Region !! staff:

1. Piping and instrumentation (flow) diagrams for shutdown systems and alternative shutdown.

2. Plant layout and equipment location drawings which identify the physical plant locations of shutdown equipment.

3. Plant layout drawings which identify fire area delineation and fire protection equipment locations.

4. Marked-up layout drawings which identify the locations of emergency lighting units.

5. Associated circuit analysis methodology.  ;

6. Plant operating procedures which describe emergency shutdown from emergency  ;

control stations outside and independent of the control room, and shutdown operations which utilize alternative shutdown capability.  :

7. Color coded marked-up electrical raceway drawings which identify the cable routing of power and control circuits for plant systems necessary to achieve and maintain safe shutdown.

8. Single line AC and DC power and control electrical distribution diagrams.
