1 This refers to the meeting between you and other members of your organi-j zation, and Mr. R. L. Spessard and others of this office on July 14, 1982, regarding remaining work and schedules to complete the IE Bulletin 79-14 requirements. With regard to the matters discussed, we understand that you will take the following actions, and inform Region III of any potential deviations from the items stated.below:

1. Analyze and modify to meet FSAR requirements the safety related piping, including suspension systems, that make up the reactor coolant pres-sure boundary up to and including the first isolation valve inside '

the drywell that is normally closed or capable of automatic closure via instrumentation and signals defined in the facility technical specifications. In addition to the piping making up the reactor coolant pressure boundary as described above, the same analysis and

modification to meet FSAR requirements must be performed for a Hot

, Shutdown Path, including suspension systems for that path. The scope of the analysis shall include all piping 21/2 inches and greater in the affected systems. The systems evaluated need not include Emergency Core Cooling Systems that are not part of the defined Hot Shutdown Path. The foregoing analysis and modifications shall be completed on or before February 15, 1983.

j 2 .- Identify on the P and ID's, the affected Item 1 Hot Shutdown Path systems including branch lines and non-safety related components j within the piping stress analysis boundaries by July 31, 1982, and 4 submit six copies to Region III.

3. For the systems analyzed in Item 1, any portions which fail to meet FSAR requirements shall be identified to Region III. Modification actions to bring the affected portions into compliance with the stated requirements will be commenced within seven days of initial identification.
4. Complete all other required safety related piping and piping suspension system modifications to the FSAR conditions on or before December 31, 1983.
5. In the event that the first isolation valve inside the drywell becomes inoperable, on or before December 31, 1983, and analysis and modifi-cation to meet FSAR conditions has not been completed for the systems up to the first isolation valve outside the containment, the Technical Specification action statement for both valves being inoperable shall be applied to the affected system. The isolation valves are those valves that are normally closed or are capable of automatic closure via instru.nentation and signals defined in the facility Technical Specifications.

Please inform us immediately if your understanding of these actions is different from that stated above.
