The results of this inspection were discussed on August 20,1999, with Mr. J. Dimmette, Jr., and other members of your staff. The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection. The purpose of this pilot program inspection was to evaluate the effectiveness of the maintenance rule program and to review the periodic evaluation specifically required for 10 CFR 50.65 (the maintenance rule). The inspection consisted of a review of documents related to maintenance rule implementation as well as interviews with responsible personnel. No issues were identified. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
