INSPECTION PLAN FOR QUAD CITIES
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
On May 5,1999, the NRC staff held a planning meeting for the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station to identify the inspection activities at your facility over the next 6 to 12 months. This meeting was held to support the pilot of the new oversight process. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of our planned inspection activities so that you will have an opportunity to prepare j
for these inspections and to provide us with feedback on any planned inspections which may conflict with your plant activities.
We may decide to augment these inspection activities with other inspectors or technical reviewers in order to train these individuals in our new oversight process. Therefore, some of these inspection activities may involve more NRC personnel than customary for a routine baseline inspection.
During the next 6 to 12 months starting June 1,1999, we plan to conduct the inspections shown in the enclosed inspection plans. These planned inspections include both planned baseline and supplementalinspections (formerly core and regionalinitiative inspections). Additionally, the basis for inspection activities (regional initiative) beyond the pilot baseline was conveyed to you in our letter of March 26,1999. Enclosure 1 lists the specifically scheduled inspections which are planned for the next 6 to 12 months. Enclosure 2 lists the periodic inspections that are planned for the next 6 to 12 months.
