This refers to the, routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. A. G. Januska of-
.this~ office on August 21-25, 1989, of activities at the Quad Cities Nuclear
Power. Station, Units 1'and 2 authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-29
and No.: DPR-30 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. R. Bax'and others
- of your. staff =at the. conclusion of the inspection on. August 25, 1989 and to a
conversation'with R.'Luczak on September. 12, 1989.
1The enclosed copy of our. inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within~these areas, the inspection consisted'of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
+ interviews with personnel. In addition, our Mobile Laboratory was at the site
during.the inspection'to perform independent measurements of-radioactivity.
~
.No violations:of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this
letter and the' enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public
Document-Room.
