Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

This is to confirm the telephone call to Mr. V. Brownlee (NRC) at approximately 1512 on June 10, 1982, by Mr. J. D. Woodard (APCo).

On June 9, 1982, it was determined that a service water valve mislabeling error could have led to a condition potentially reportable under Unit 2 Tech. Spec. 6.9.1.12 i. Certain A & B train service water cooling valves associated with the 2B charging pump were mislabeled i.e., "A" train marked as "B" and vice versa. As a result it is possible that the Limiting Condition for Operation for the charging pump was not satisfied during certain time periods in plant life.

Immediately upon discovery of the condition, the valves were correctly relabeled. Similar valves in Units 1 and 2 were verified as being correctly labeled.

An investigation is continuing and further details will be provided in the followup report.
