Special . *t No.91-007, Unit 1 Smoke Dete, 7 System Inoperable for More ihan 14 Days Plant design change, PCN S89-1-6195, installed new control panels and new smoke detectors for existing fire Detection Systems, IA-31, IA-33 and 1A-34. This design change was initiated to accomplish commitments which required FHP to be in compliance with National Fire Code (NFC) 72.D regarding supervisory circuitry. These detection systems provide Halon protection for the Unit 1 Control Rod Drive Mechanism Room, the Computer Room, and the Communications Hot Shutdown Panel Room.

To accomplish the design change, the existing smoke detectors were removed from service and new detectors were installed. Accomplishment of the design change took more it.an 14 days.

All other Technical Specification action statement requirements for these detection systems were met.

Out of service and return to service times are specified below:
