J. M. Farley Nuclear Plant Special Report - Unit 1 RE: Technical Speci fication 3.3.3.1
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
This report is being submitted in accordance with Technical Spe-cification 3.3.3.1 action statement 27A to report the inoperability of radiation monitor R29B (Plant Vent Stack Monitor System) low range noble gas channel.
At 0145 on 4-6-83, radiation monitor R29B was declared inoperable due to erroneous high indications on the low range noble gas channel.
Tech. Spec. 3.3.3.1, in part, requires radiation monitor R29B to be operable. Tech. Spec. 3.3.3.1 action statement requirements were met.
This event resulted from failure of the low range noble gas detec-tor. The detector was replaced and following channel calibration, radiation monitor R29B was declared operable at 1500 on 4-9-83.
The delay in the replacement of the detector was due to previously ordered parts having not been received on site when this event occurred.
