L The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 96 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-6 for the Big Rock Point Plant. This amendment consists'of i changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated December 19, 1988.

This amendment revises the Facility Operating License to allow for an increase in the amount of by-product material' the plant may possess and use from 10.5 curies of Cesium-137 to 45 curies of Cesium-137 as sealed sources.

A copy of our related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. Notice of Issuance ,

will be included in the Commission's biweekly Federal Register notice.  !
