SUMMARY

OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON JANUARY 29, 2014, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC, CONCERNING RAI SET 10, FOR THE BYRON STATION AND BRAIDWOOD STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NOS. MF1879, MF1880, MF1881, AND MF1882)

The U S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC {Exelon or the applicant), held a telephone conference call on January 29, 2014, to discuss Request for Additional Information (RAI) Set 10 RAis for the Byron Station (Byron) and Braidwood Station (Braidwood) license renewal application (LRA). The telephone conference call was useful in clarifying the RAis.

Enclosure 1 provides a listing of the participants and Enclosure 2 contains a summary of the discussion.

The applicant had an opportunity to comment on this summary.

OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL FOR RAI SET 10 (CALL#2), FOR THE BYRON AND BRAIDWOOD LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION January 29, 2014 The U.S_ Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon or the applicant), held a telephone conference call on January 29, 2014, to discuss Set 10 RAis for the Byron and Braidwood license renewal application (LRA). The telephone conference call was useful in clarifying the RAis.

Discussion The staff and the applicant discussed the following RAls from RAI Set 10:

• RAI4.1-1

• RAI4.1-2

• RAI 4.3.1-2, this RAI is removed from the set, per technical reviewer request, for further considerations before being presented.

• RAI4.3.1-4, correcting a typographical error in a Table designation.

• RAis 4.3.4-4, RAI 4.3.4-5, and RAI 4.3.4-6, these RAis will be edited to note that a sample set of locations and eliminated component(s) might be acceptable provided a justification of sufficient detail is also supplied to explain that this sample set is bounding for the cases presented.

• RAI 4.3. 7-1, the request would be revised to reflect the staff is interested in identification of pressurizer surge line stratification sub-transients in the current licensing basis.

The applicant indicated it understood the RAis of Set 10 and will factor in the staff's concerns as it prepares its response.
