OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL FOR REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SET 3, FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM SCOPING, PERTAINING TO THE BYRON NUCLEAR STATION AND BRAIDWOOD NUCLEAR STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION October 22, 2013 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon or the applicant), held a telephone conference call on October 22, 2013, to discuss request for additional information (RAI), Set 3, regarding fire protection system seeping for the Byron-Braidwood license renewal application (LRA). The telephone conference call was useful in clarifying the RAis.

Discussion The staff and the applicant discussed RAis 8.2.3.3.12-1, 6.2.3.3.12-2, and 8.2 3 3 12-3, concerning the LRA and issues regarding fire protection system seeping Following discussion with the applicant and consideration of LRA Section 2.3.3.12 and Drawing series M-52 and M-58 for both Byron and Braidwood, the staff agreed that RAis 2.3.3.12-1 and 2.3.3.12-3 were sufficiently covered in the LRA, and therefore they would be dropped. The staff noted that, in accordance with earlier discussions, RAI 2.1.3.4-1 was also dropped.

The applicant stated that it understood the remaining RAis in Set 3, and it would develop its responses as requested.
