SUMMARY

OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL FOR RAI SET 8, FOR THE BYRON AND BRAIDWOOD LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION January 13, 2014 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission {NRC or the staff) and representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon or the applicant), held a telephone conference call on January 13, 2014, to discuss Set 8 RAis for the Byron and Braidwood license renewal application (LRA). The telephone conference call was useful in clarifying the RAis.

Discussion The staff and the applicant initiated discussion on RAI 8.2.1. 7-7, "Addressing MRP-227 -A guidance for key input variables of ApplicanULicensee Action Item 1 (017)." No ultimate decisions were reached for this RAI. As the outcome of the call it was agreed that this RAI would be pulled from Set 8 and placed into its own set, in order that further discussion and clarification could occur without holding up the remaining RAis of Set 8.

The staff noted that the applicant indicated prior to the call that it understands the remaining RAis of Set 8 and will prepare its responses for those RAis accordingly. If further questions arise concerning Set 8 (as modified), the applicant will notify the staff.
