Daar '.dr. price :

h Ue appreciate very much your kindness in replying to our letter concerning the Bodega Matter, and we thank you for the informative pamphlet.

We are not, however, fully reassured.

We have gained the impression, from continuing developments, that the decision has already been made in favor of pGE, and that the het. rings will be only an empty gesture. It was a great mistake, it seems to us, that FGE was allowed to begin work on the site before raceiving the construction permit. They have 11 ready spent (i1,000,000 on it, they tell us.

There are too many uncertainties, in our opinion, e.nd too much public opposition to the plant to justify issuing this per. nit.

In addition, it is not absolutely necessary to build this plant at this poin;. We are told that the i

supply of fossil fuals is still ;1entiful cnd that the date of their exhaustion is not yet c1 sight. There is also a l

rumor about that Lonneville has affered power to pGE and that they hs.ve refused to buy it ,

1 If construction of this plant is postponed,  !

> it will allow research to find now and safer designs, and a solution, perhaps, to the formidable problem of radio- j active waste disposal.

We do not question the sincerity and earnest-ness of the A30 in seeking out h1alth hazards, but we think j the genercl ground upon which they form their judgment a bit narrow. 1 We will continue to feel that pconle are

.nore important than the PGE, er the A30 -- or Science itself. -@_ r1 3 ;!
