Gantlemen:

1 I am writing you in regard to your call for statements from the public about evacuation planning for the'Shoreham Reactor.

Unfortunately,;

I will be away during the time you have set for public hearings, so I sm writing you instead.

I am a resident of Shoreham and live one mile from the reactor.

.I am not an employee of LILCO nor do I own any stock.

I have lived in Shoreham for ten years.and have followed the construction of the reactor closely during that time, since.my family and I live so cloce to it.

Although I am not a reactor expert, I have concluded that i

the reactor can be safely operated because the scrutiny by the NRC and local governments has been so close.

In particular,,I am prepared to er t your judgement with respect to the feasibility.of an evacuation pi from LILCO.

I might add that I have never'seen any good reason why the area cannot be evacuated within the NRC specifications.
