In accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)Section XI Code, Florida Power
& Light. Company plans to apply ASME Code Case N-356 at St. Lucie Units 1 and 2 and Turkey Point Units 3
and 4.
Code Case N-356 allows the certification period for Level III NDE personnel to be extended to five years.
The NRC staff has found implementation of ASME Code Case N-356 acceptable in Regulatory Guide 1.147, Revision 7, dated July 1989.
Per the requirements of the ASME Code, 1986 Addenda, paragraph IWA-
- 2441, the use of this code case will be included in the next revision to the Inservice Inspection Programs for the above mentioned units.
