10CFR26.73(d)

SALEM AND HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATIONS In accordance with 10CFR26.73(d), this letter will certify that Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) has implemented a Fitness for Duty Program at the Hope Creek Generating Station and Salem Nuclear Generating Station that meets the requirements of 10CFR Part 26, "Fitness-for-Duty Programs."

All required program elements are in place and functioning at the present time.

The training required by the Rule was completed on December 15, 1989.

Pursuant to 10CFR26.73(a), the following cut-off levels for drug testing are in addition to or more stringent than those imposed by 10CFR Part 26:

Chemical testing is performed for the required substances at the minimum prescribed cut-off levels for both screen and confirmation with the exception of the screening (initial) test for marijuana metabolites.

PSE&G screens for marijuana metabolites at 50 ng/ml rather than the minimum requirement of 100 ng/ml.

This level is the only exception to the minimum levels prescribed by 10CFR Part 26.
