EVALUATION OF THE INTERIM OPERABILITY OF COOPER NUCLEAR STATION DIPIPG SYSTEMS (TAC NO. 68159)

The ilRC has completed its review of the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) submittel dated June 12, 1988 regarding the interin operability of the safety-related piping systems at Cooper Nuclear Station.

Based upon its review of the NPPD st bmittal the staff has concluded that you have provided an acceptable response and that these piping systems are constructed with adecuate design margin for their intended service for the interim period until start up from the refueling outage currently scheduled to begin in April 1989. The staff is currently reviewing the NPPD long tern prograrn that is intended to bring all supports into full code cornpliance prior to start up from your 1989 refueling outage.

A copy of the staff's related Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
