Gentlemen:

This letter is written in response to your letter dated May 15, 1990, transmitting Inspection Report 50 298/90 12. Therein you indicated that one of our activities was in violation of NRC requirement Following is a statement of the violation and our respons STATEMENT OF VIO1ATION Unaunlified Personnel Technical Specification 6.1.4 requires that the minimum qualifications of personnel meet the requirements as described in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) N 18.1 197 ANSI N.18.1 1971, requires that technicians in responsible positions shall have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in their specialty. This experience involves a minimum of 4,000 hours0 days <br />0 hours <br />0 weeks <br />0 months <br /> completed in noc less then 80 week Contrary to the above, on April 19, 1990, the inspector identified an individual with only 2,500 hours0.00579 days <br />0.139 hours <br />8.267196e-4 weeks <br />1.9025e-4 months <br /> of Health Physics experience performing the duties of a Senior Health Physics Technician during the period of March 12 27, 199 This is a Severity Level IV violation.
