SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-298/99-01
Dear Mr. Horn:
' This refers to the inspection conducted on February 7 through March 20,1999, at the Cooper
,
Nuclear Station facility. The results of this inspection were discussed with your staff. The
enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.
During the 6-week period covered by the inspection, conduct of activities at the Cooper Nuclear
Station facility was generally characterized by safety-conscious operations W appropriate
maintenance and engineering. Based on the results of this inspection, th # .C has determined
that four violations of NRC requirements occurred. These violations are
ng treated as noncited
violations (NCVs), consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. These NCVs are
described in the subject inspection report. If you contest the violation or severity level of these
NCVs, you should provide a response within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with the
basis for-your denial, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk,

Washir3gton, DC 20555-0001, with a copy to the Regional Administrator, Region IV, and the

Director, Office of Enforcement, United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC
20555-0001.
