By letter dated May 25, 1990, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD).provided j

the NRC staff with Revision 6 of the Cooper Nuclear Station Inservice Testing Program in response to the requirements of Generic letter 89-04. Your submittal R

included eight new relief requests that are not related to any Generic Letter l

89 04 positions, and therefore, require NRC approval.

In your submittal you requested that the staff expedit'e its review of Relief Requests RP.14 and RP.15 which request relief from the requirenent to measure pump inlet pressure, and the requirement related to instrument ranges, l

respectively.

By letter dated May 25, 1990, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) provided i

the NRC staff with Revision 6 of the Cooper Nuclear Station Inservice Testing Program in response to the requirements of Generic Letter 89-04.

Your submittal included eight new relief requests that are not related to any Generic, Letter 89-04 positions, and therefore, requir.e NRC approval.

In your submittal you requested that' the staff expedite its review of Relief Requests RP-14 and RP-15 which request relief from the requirement to measure pump inlet pressure, and the requirement related to instrument ranges, respectively.

The staff has completed its review of Relief Requests RP-14 and RP-15, and has determined that the reliefs requested may be granted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(1) and 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3)(11), respectively, and that the granting of such reitef is authorized by law, will not endanger life or property, or the common defense and security, and is otherwise in the public interest.

The staff's detailed findings are indicated in the enclosed Safety Evaluation.
