SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO. 50-251 UNIT: ur e own DATE e COMPLETED BY a an er TELEPHONE:

REPORT MONTH AUGUST 1993 Unit 4 began the month of August at 100% power and remained there until August 12. A shutdown, commencing at. 1755 on required to repair a leak on the 4-524A pressurizer August 12, was spray mini bypass valve. The unit reached Mode 5 on August 13 and repairs began. The repair was completed and heat-up commenced on August 15.

On August 16-, with the unit in Mode 1 and 28% power, two high ressure feedwater heaters were being placed in service.

ersonnel error resulted in the feedwater heaters being returned to service incorrectly and steam generator levels rose faster that the reactor operators could control them. At 2233, the turbine tripped on high-high level in the 4C steam generator, generating an automata.c reactor trip.

The unit again reached Mode 1 on August 17. By 0600 on August 18, the unit had returned to 100% power. The unit remained at essentially 100% power for the remainder of the month.
