SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO. 50-251 UNIT'ATE:

Turke Point ¹4 November 8, 1996 COMPLETE J. E. Knorr BY'ELEPHONE:

(305) 246-6757 REPORT MONTH October 1996 Unit 4 operated at approximately 100% reactor until October 7, 1996.

Power was reduced to less than 80% to repair a feedwater heater relief valve. During the subsequent return to 100$ power on October 9, a rod position indication misalignment with demand position was realigned and 100% power was reached late that day. Power was reduced to less than 608 power to replace a failed steam generator feedwater, pump suction relief valve on October 12. Power was returned to 100% early the next morning.

On the evening of October 21, the plant was taken to Mode 2 for plugging of tubes in the 2A feedwater heater. The plant was returned to the grid on October 24 and reached 100% power early on October 25. Thermal power was increased from 2200 MW to 2300 MW on October 29, 1996. The plant operated at essentially 100% power through the end of the month.
