This letter cor' firms the discussion between members of our staffs to have two meetings on

, October 15,1997, in the NRC Region lli office. The meetings are open to the public.

The first meeting is from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. to discuss operational lessons leamed as a result j of poor control of Unit 2 reactor vessel level on July 28,1997.

The second meeting is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and we would like you to discuss the status and findings of the Dresden Engineering Assurance Group activities, the effectiveness of recommended correc+ive actions, overall engineering performance improvement, and nuclear steam supply system supplier and architect engineer audits /re-audits. These actions were outlined by Confirmatory Action Letter, dated November 21,1996, and inspection Report No. 50-237/97008(DRS); 50-249/97008(DRS) dated September 25,1997, t
