This letter cor' firms the discussion between members of our staffs to have two meetings on October 15,1997, in the NRC Region lli office. The meetings are open to the public.

The first meeting is from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. to discuss operational lessons leamed as a result j
of poor control of Unit 2 reactor vessel level on July 28,1997.
The second meeting is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and we would like you to discuss the status and findings of the Dresden Engineering Assurance Group activities, the effectiveness of recommended correc+ive actions, overall engineering performance improvement, and nuclear steam supply system supplier and architect engineer audits /re-audits. These actions were outlined by Confirmatory Action Letter, dated November 21,1996, and inspection Report No. 50-237/97008(DRS); 50-249/97008(DRS) dated September 25,1997, We appreciate your cooperation in this matter, if you have any questions regarding this meeting, t
