COMPLETION OF LICENSING ACTIVITIES FOR GENERIC LETTER 95-07 FOR DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 (TAC NOS. M93458 AND M93459) ;
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
On August 17,1995, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 95-07, " Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves," to request that licensees take actions to ensure that safety-related power-operated gate valves that are susceptible to pressure locking or thermal binding are capable of performing their safety functions.
By letter of February 13,1996, Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) submitted its 180-day response to GL 95-07 for Dresden, Units 2 and 3. The NRC staff reviewed Comed's submittal and issued a request for additional information (RAl) on April 2,1996. By letter of May 24,1996, Comed provided the additional Information. Dear Mr. Kingsley:
On August 17,1995, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 95-07, " Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves," to request that licensees take actions to ensure that safety-related power-operated gate valves that are susceptible to pressure locking or thermal binding are capable of performing their safety functions.
By letter of February 13,1996, Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) submitted its 180-day response to GL 95-07 for Dresden, Units 2 and 3. The NRC staff reviewed Comed's i I
submittal and issued a request for additional information (RAI) on April 2,1996. By letter of May 24,1996, Comed provided the additional information. On June 5,1996, the NRC issued a second RAI and on July 5,1996 Comed provided the additionalinformation.
