Thank you for the submittal of your Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD), Chapter 17.2, included in your 10 CFR 50.71(e) FSAR update of March 1988. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(a), we have reviewed the total revised program description along with the following other sections of the update: (a) Section 1.8, NRC Regulatory Guides; (b) fection 3.2, Table 3.2-1 Equipment Classification; (c) Section 9.5.1.1.4, Fire Protection QA Prog.am; and (d) Section 13.1, Figure 13.1-2, Organization Structure of the Applicant.

Based on the above reviews and on the results of discussions held with your Quality Assurance Director on October 27, 1983, we find tiiat ;>our revised QAPD continues to n.eet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, and is there-fore acceptable.

If there are changes to other operative QA comitments existing in docketed correspondence outside of those delineated above, you are obligated to notify this office. Implementing such changes should be based on 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3) or 10 CFR 50.54 (f)(3) as appropriate.
