NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-440/99006(DRS)
Dear Mr. Myers:
On April 16,1999, the NRC completed an inspection at your Perry Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant.
The inspection reviewed activities associated with your inservice inspection efforts and the
preparation for the repair of the N4C feedwater nozzle. The enclosed report presents the areas
examined and results of the inspection.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection.
Inservice inspection activities were effectively implemented with several aspects demonstrating
good safety focus. The N4C feedwater nozzle repair was well planned by using a mock-up of
the reactor vessel nozzle and bioshield to demonstrate overlay welding,
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the
enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
