This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. J. H. Neisler of

this office on June 25-28, 1990, of activities at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant,

Unit 2, cathorized.by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-149 and to the discussion

of our findings with Mr. E. G. Sterle and other members of your staff at the

conclusion of.the inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to examine the

preservation of Unit 2 structures, components and materials during the extended

construction-delay.

The enclosed copy of.our inspection report identifies areas' examined during

l

the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a-selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

No-violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this

inspection.
