Request for Clarification of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant's Conformance with Regulatory Guide 1.68 Your letter dated April 29, 1985 (PY-CRI/NRR-0207L), responding to the staff's question Q640.62 relative to the Perry Unit 1. Initial Test Program, indicates that a prior exception to Position C.3 of Regulatory Guide 1.68.2 in the FSAR has been deleted. However, your letter dated May 14, 1985 (PY-CRI/NRR-0248L),

providing additional clarification to Perry's conformance with regulatory guides in general, acknowledges conformance with Regulatory Guide 1.68.2 with a " clarification" to Position C.3 which appears to contradict your response to Q640.62. The staff's evaluation inputs to the Perry Project Manager are predicated on full compliance with Regulatory Guide 1.68.2; i. e. with no ex-ceptions or clarifications.

It is accordingly requested that you resolve this apparent contradiction and provide your response by July 5, 1985.
