OF OPERATIONS WATERFORD 3 JUNE 1986 i

I The unit started the month at approximately 100%. On June 5, a power reduction was initiated due to tube ruptures in a turbine cooling water system heat l

exchanger. On June 6 the unit returned to 100% power. On June 27, a power reduction was initiated due to increased seal temperatures in reactor coolant pump 1A. On June 28, the unit returned to 100% power. On June 30. at 1141, at l 100% power, a reactor trip occurred on low DNBR due to a position indication i

failure for control element assembly #35. The unit ended the month in a shutdown condition.

This report is submitted per Section 6.9.1.6 of the Waterford 3 Technical Specifications for Facility Operating License No. NPF-38. Please note that values for Maximum Dependable Capacity (Gross and Net MWe) have been revised to include the 2%

degradation for aging required by Middle South Utilities System.
