We exercise report, dated December 17, 1986, was subnitted on March 11, 1986, by Region IV of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and includes the cmments resulting frcun the Regional Assistance Conunittee review. %e Grand Gulf NS is located near the Mississippi River, in Claiborne County, Mississippi.

Included in the 10-mile plume emergency planning zone are portions of Claiborne County, Mississippi and Tensas Parish, Louisiana; a report on the Louisiana exercise participation was furnished to you by memorandum dated May 1, 1986.

H e State of Mississippi and Claiborne County fully participated in this exercise. heir performance is evaluated in the attached exercise report which was prepared by FEMA Region IV.

Rese inadequacies did not detract from the overall capability demonstrated by the State of Mississippi and Claiborne County to pmtect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency. Herefore, the 44 CFR 350 approval granted on June 29, 1983, will remain in effect.

FEMA Region IV staff has furnished a copy of this exercise report to the State of Mississippi and requested a schedule of corrective actions. h e Region will assure completion by the State of the necessary corrective actions.
