Confirming my discussion with Mr. Joe Tapia, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station is documenting the extension for our response to Notice of Violation 98-13-02. This notice is included in NRC Inspection Report 50-416/98-13, dated December 1,1998.

Due to the Christmas holidays and our desire to complete an independent review of the root cause analysis, our response will be submitted by February 12,1999. This additional time will allow us to completely address the violation as well as issues raised with the inspection report itself as part of the violation response.
