Exercise Report of the Ibcember 3,1985, Exercise of the Iouisiana Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plans for the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Attached are two copies of the exercise report of the IMeember 3, 1985, full-participation exercise of the Iouisiana radiological emergency pre-paredness plans site-specific to the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. This exercise report was prepared by the Region VI staff of the Federal thergency Nnagement Agency (FE m).

There were three deficiencies identified as a result of this exercise which can be stamiarized as follws:

o limitations of the primary ded.cated hot line telephone system in the State Emergency Opera'. ions Center; o unsatisfactory direction and control of the fiold monitoring teams including cmmunication problems involving the toutsiana Nuclear Energy Division; o unsatisfactory harriling of contaminated irrlividuals by the

%dison Parish flospital and Ambulance Services; There are several areas requiring corrective actions as well as areas recommended for improvement.

A copy of this exercise repert has been transmittat to the State of Inuisiana and a schedule of corrective actions has been requested. The State of Inuisiana has also been requested to conduct a remedial exercise prior to June 4, 1986, to address the deficiencies identified above. A copy of the schmiule of cor-rective actions arri the results of the remedial exercise will be forvanient to you when they beccre available.
