APPLICATION FOR USE OF ASME CODE CASE N-416 In your April 22, 1988 submittal you requested pemission to use as needed ASME Code Case N-416, without exception, as provided in NRC Regulatory Guide (R.G.) 1.147, "Inservice Inspection Code Case Applicability - ASME Section XI Division 1 " Revision 5.
Though the concept of requesting generic application of an NRC reviewed ASME Code Case is comendable it has been made unnecessary by the recently approved modification of 10 CFR 50.55a, "Codes and Standards,"
which now permits licensee use of ASME Code Cases as approved in R.G. 1.147 as they have been determined suitable for use by the NRC staff.
As no NRC action was required for this request, your $150.00 application fee shall be credited to your account against future expenses.
This letter constitutes our final action concerning your request.
