Dear Mr. Creel:

SUBJECT:

REVISION TO SECOND 10-YEAR INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM PLAN FOR CALVERT CLIFFS UNITS 1 AND 2 (UNIT 1 TAC 67094; UNIT 2 TAC 67095)

By letter dated January 11, 1990, the NRC approved the second 10-Year Inservice-l Inspection (ISI) Program Plan for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units i

1 & 2, and provided a supporting Safety Evaluation (SE). The SE included a provision requiring volumetric and surface examinations of a representative sampling of Class 2 piping welds in the Containment Spray and Shutdown Cooling l

System. The NRC requested that this change be reflected in a subsequent revision to the ISI Program Plan.

By letter dated May 10, 1990, you provided this information by submitting a portion of your revised second 10-year ISI Program Plan.

This revision, Change 3 included all of the affected areas that required inclusion of volumetric and surface examinations of Class 2 piping welds in the Containment Spray and Shutdown Cooling Systems.

l i

Based on the submittal, the staff determined that you have adequately addressed the provision specified in the SE. This completes our action relative to the above referenced TAC numbers, Sincerely.
