NRC BULLETIN NO. 88-11. " PRESSURIZER SURGE LINE THERMAL STRATIFICATION" EVALUATION OF COMBUSTION ENGINEERING OWNERS GROUP BOUNDING ANALYSIS RELATING TO CALVERT CLIFFS, UNITS 1 AND 2. TAC 72119 (UNIT 1)
AND72120(UNIT 2)
By letters dated March 3, June 6, and July 31, 1989, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BG&E) responded to item 1.b of NRC Bulletin No. 88-11
" Pressurizer Surge Line Thermal Stratification." The letter stated that a t
bounding analysis performed by the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CE0G) is applicable to Calvert Cliffs, Units 1 and 2.
It further indicated that the integrity of the pressurizer surge line (PSL) satisfies the American Society.
of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)Section III Code criteria for the life of the plant, taking into account the effects of thermal stratification.
The staff has completed its review of the CEOG bounding analysis and finds i

Portions of the enclosed evaluation have been deleted. The deletions are due to propriatary information included in the Combustion Engineering Report, CEN 387-P, " Combustion Engineering Own n croup Pressurizer Surge Line Flow Stratification Evaluation."
