Summary of Operating Experience t
. January 1984 ,
U3 it 2 operated at 100% reactor power at the beginning of the report period. During the month several small power reductions occurred for
. preventive and corrective maintenance.
On January .j 3, reactor power was reduced to 68% to conduct preventive maintenance.on a main boiler feed pump.
On January 5, the reactor was brought to hot shutdown due to excessive air. leakage from the Weld channel and Containment Penetration Pressurization System. The cause of - the excessive leakage was corrected and the reactor returned to 100% power on January 7.
On January 10, reactor power was reduced to S3% while securing a condensate pump for corrective maintenance.
.On January 13, reactor power was reduced to 98% to plug a leaking condenser tube.
During the period from January 19 through January 20, power reactor was
- reduced to 98% on three occasions while main circulating. water pumps were temoved from service to allow inspection of the circulating water intake structures.
On January 27,.s controlled power reduction to' hot shutdown was commenced i due to apparent inaccuracies in the Rod Position Indication (RPI)
Systen. The shutdown was terminated at a reactor power of 17% when new
- rod position calibration curves indicated that the RPI System was satisfactory. The reactor was returned to 100%~ power and remained there for the rest of the month.
